Is an isoflavone glycoside found in Sophora Japonica L. (Pagoda Tree)’s fruit (Gwegak), an herb widely used in traditional Chinese medicine. Close examination has revealed that “Sophoricoside” is highly efficacious in reducing body weight and fat as well as lowering blood cholesterol and triglycerides. Sophora Japonica L.’s fruit (Gwegak) is one of the 50 fundamental herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine.

Sophoricoside has been known to inhibit the proliferation of fat cells and decrease the size of fat (lipid) cells; furthermore, it reduces leptin and PPAR production which plays a major role in obesity.
